While there are many prettied stinger hooks on the market not all of them fit every situation that walleye anglers encounter. Often the stinger rigs are too short for larger presentations. Tying your own stingers to the length needed for the presentation at hand is a good move and can put more fish in the boat. For example, when rigging with larger minnows like Creek Chubs or Redtail Chubs adding a small stinger to the presentation can allow a faster hookset. Rig up a 3-4 inch stinger rig with a red Ultrapoint treble in size 8 and you have a killer rig for fishing big chubs.
